Atrial Fibrillation

Who has it?

Atrial Fibrillation is the most common abnormal rhythm of the heart. According to the American Heart Association, 2.2 million Americans have AF. As a person ages, the likelihood of developing AF increases. Three to five percent of all people age 65 and older have atrial fibrillation. AF is more common in men than women. The American Heart Association also states that 15% of all strokes occur in people with AF.
