Tricyclic Antidepressants

Nortriptyline, although shown to be effective at increasing the success rate of smoking cessation, is not currently FDA approved for this purpose. In addition, it is often reserved for patients who unsuccessfully quit smoking with the aid of NRT and/or Zyban. Therapy should begin 10-28 days prior to quit date.
