Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers

Although Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARBs) work on the same processes as ACE inhibitors do, they have a different action. By occupying angiotensin II receptor sites within the blood vessels, ARBs block the effects of angiotensin II more completely. Blood vessels expand, blood pressure goes down, and the overall workload of the heart decreases.
