Corticosteroids

In general, corticosteroids are not the drugs of first choice for the treatment of RA; however, they do have a very important role in RA. The choice of an RA drug depends on numerous factors, such as other diseases or conditions you may have, other medications you may be taking, and medication costs. Your doctor is in the best person to decide if a corticosteroid is an appropriate treatment for your rheumatoid arthritis.
