Biguanides
Biguanides are used mainly to treat diabetes. They may also be useful for women who have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Often associated with insulin resistance, which is the inability to use insulin effectively, PCOS also causes ovulation failure. Using biguanides either alone or in combination with fertility-enhancing medications (clomiphene or gonadotropins) may help to restore ovulation for women with PCOS. Drugs in the class
