Antimetabolites
This medication is an oral drug that can produce dramatic clearing of psoriasis when other treatments have failed. This medication works by halting the production of skin cells. Because it can produce side effects, particularly liver disease, regular blood tests should be performed. Chest x-rays and occasional liver biopsies may be required.
