Benefits

Reduced risk of:

  • Endometrial cancer
  • Menstrual pain
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Ovarian cysts and surgery for ovarian cysts
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) in women with multiple sexual partners
  • Symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

Possibly reduced risk of:

Risks

No protection against sexually transmitted infections
