Meet the Experts

Brenda L. Gleason, Pharm.D.

Dr. Gleason is a primary care clinical pharmacist with expertise in chronic disease state management--primarily hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart failure, smoking cessation, and anticoagulation. She also specializes in preventive medicine. Brenda is a certified Smoking Cessation Specialist from the University of Pittsburgh National Smoking Cessation Specialist Certification Program.

Dr. Gleason earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Brenda then continued her training by completing a residency specializing in primary care at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, John Cochran Division in St. Louis.

Along with her work at Drug Digest, Dr. Gleason is also an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She continues to maintain a clinical practice in primary care one day each week at a community based adult internal medicine clinic. Brenda is currently a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacists and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She has co-authored a pharmacy textbook titled, "Contemporary Drug Information--An Evidence-based Approach," and has provided drug information and pharmacy education related presentations at numerous national pharmacy association meetings. In her free time she enjoys traveling, golf, swimming, attending professional sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.
